If ones goes bad, your broke down, where stock IC's will get you out and back. Seeing it from this stand point I might look at functional over practical. Seeing that a Set of 555 are seeming to be on sale a lot here lately ( see chip's ad ) for think $700+, you could walk away with dual pops and injectors for the price of Stillen or Greddy IC's. And with a set up like that, you'll have the Potential ( key word there,,lol ) of a 11 sec car from what we've been seeing on here lately.........lol. ;)~
